Not suere but I've been told the DR650 cam is workable in the Savage. I've run out of cash to try it but it does look about right. Another option would be to get a savage cam reprofiled to a new lumpier profile. It's a specialist job but can be done!
Finally we have had the head of my wifes Savage gas flowed. It doesn't do any top end improvement but the mid range pull is much smoother and the acceleration is really rapid.
Only cost around £80 to do too - well worth it.
